Full description:

The Department of Chemical Engineering (CHEG) is seeking a Postdoctoral Fellow. The position will focus on hybrid mechanistic-empirical modeling and optimization of bioprocesses. The goal is to advance parameter estimation and optimization capabilities for process development and improved process understanding. The project is expected to develop open-source tools for integrated modeling and optimization of data-driven and mechanistic models. Successful candidates will interact with multiple faculty within the department as well as industrial project sponsors.

 

The candidate should demonstrate:

  • Strong verbal/written communication skills;
  • Highly motivated and creative, enjoys working in a collaborative research environment.

 

Qualifications:

  • PhD in Chemical Engineering, or related field;
  • Interdisciplinary strength in process systems engineering and / or bioprocess modeling
  • A strong research record, documented by recent publications in top-tier conferences and journals.

 

The position is funded for one year with a potential for renewal and is inclusive of competitive salary and benefits. The starting date is flexible, but as early as possible is preferred.
