Context of the Job:
The National Institute for Innovation in Manufacturing Biopharmaceuticals (NIIMBL) seeks a highly competent and experienced professional to serve as their Technical Grant Writer. NIIMBL is funded by a cooperative agreement with the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) as a public/private consortium of a diverse set of member organizations, including industry, academia, non-profit organizations, state governments, and federal agencies.
Under limited direction from the Dir, Strategic Community Relations, the Technical Grant Writer serves as the primary writer for the Institute’s funding proposals and undertakes a variety of duties to provide direct support to the Institute Director, Program Leads, NIIMBL external project teams, and staff as they prepare manuscripts, journal publications, white papers, and funding opportunities in support of scientific research, education and workforce development, regulatory and other projects.
The Technical Grant Writer, working independently or as part of a team, will coordinate the Institutes various writing activities to develop competitive external grant proposals to federal agencies such as the National Institutes of Health, the Department of Commerce, Department of Defense; as well as foundations such as Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation and State agencies. The Technical Grant Writer will also be responsible for the preparation of a variety of quarterly, annual, and ad hoc reporting.
