Building Cooperative Biomanufacturing Workforce Training Network

Performance Period: 1/1/2020 to 6/30/2021

BioTnet (Biomanufacturing Training Network) is a cooperative training network for the biopharmaceutical manufacturing sector. The network is made up of private and public Massachusetts-based teaching institutes that offer education and training resources at all postsecondary education levels.

This 12-month project is intended to set up the training network at the state level with a well-defined scope that can be expanded as the value of BioTnet to industry is demonstrated. A key element of this project is the formation of an industry course advisory committee that gives direct input and feedback to the courses developed. Existing NIIMBL resources are leveraged to identify gaps in the current workforce development landscape and the industry advisory committee will ensure relevant course content. All materials developed will be freely shared among the network members to facilitate the rapid dissemination of training resources throughout the state and beyond in the future.

To ensure a realistic project scope, three courses developed by BioTnet will be delivered as part of the project. A significant debriefing and planning period is part of the project as well for network expansion and sustainability.
