Committee Nominations

Nominations are now open for elected seats on the NIIMBL Governing, Technical Activities, and Workforce Activities Committees. These nominations and the upcoming election will establish the committees under NIIMBL’s updated structure, ensuring each committee operates with greater focus, efficiency, and alignment with its refined role. Eligibility

Anyone from any NIIMBL member organization is invited to make a nomination, including federal partners and tier levels not subject to election. For committee seat eligibility, the nominee must meet the following criteria:

  • The nominee’s organization must be eligible for open seats at the time of nomination. For example, if two seats are open on a committee for a Tier 2 member, then that nominee must be part of a Tier 2 organization. If you are unsure of an organization’s tier level, contact [email protected].
  • The organization’s membership must be active and in good standing at the time of the election, to be confirmed by NIIMBL upon nomination submission.
  • To ensure broad-based engagement across the Tier levels, NIIMBL will make efforts to ensure that organizations will be limited to one individual holding an elected seat across all eligible committees at any given time. NIIMBL will exercise due diligence during the election process to ensure voters are presented with candidates from different organizations.

Term

The elected representative’s term will be January 1 – December 31, 2027.  Individuals may serve two consecutive terms.

Nomination Procedure

You may nominate another member or self-nominate by completing the form on the right by October 23, 2026, at 5:00 pm ET.

NIIMBL will contact nominees to verify nomination acceptance. Nominees will be asked to provide their brief bio, headshot, and a personal statement of interest.

About NIIMBL Committees

To ensure broad-based representation from the community in NIIMBL activities and initiatives, several member committees advise, guide, and steer the institute in matters related to its governance, technology activities, workforce activities, and regulatory activities.

There are three committees with some portion of elected seats:

  • Governing Committee (GC)
  • Technical Activities Committee (TAC)
  • Workforce Activities Committee (WAC)

Seats (appointed and elected) on these committees are defined by member organization tier level.
