Industry Need

Increase awareness and advocacy for pandemic training and development among minorities and populations at large

Approach

This project will focus on the implementation of a program to educate and train future leaders to be prepared for the next pandemic and to build on current responses to COVID-19 and emerging variants.

The program will consist of three sections:

  1. Implementing a Pandemic Preparedness and Response Program
  2. Managing During a Crisis
  3. Divulging Vaccine Awareness: Biopharma 101 (hands-on experience)

Impacts

This program aims to reduce pandemic-related fear by educating minority communities and the broader population on preparedness strategies.

Contribute to reducing the risk of systemic health and social inequities among the population at large.

Provide hybrid, digitally focused training and tools that may be used to combat a pandemic among minorities and population at large that are transferable to diverse industries.

Value Statement/Outcomes

This project created a Pandemic Preparedness and Response program with three integrated modules—Preparedness, Crisis Management, and Vaccine Awareness—delivered through hybrid, digitally focused learning and hands-on biopharma training. Reaching 600 unique visitors (60% aged 18–34), the initiative reduced fear, promoted vaccine awareness, and built transferable skills to strengthen public health resilience and workforce readiness.
