Newark, Del., May 17, 2022 – The National Institute for Innovation in Manufacturing Biopharmaceuticals (NIIMBL) is pleased to announce that Alok Patel has recently joined the Institute as Assistant Director, Business Development and Strategic Initiatives. In this role Mr. Patel will strengthen NIIMBL’s emphasis on regional economic and workforce development.
Since its inception, NIIMBL has worked closely with local, state, and regional life sciences communities – fostering national-scale connections among organizations that emphasize regional interests. Patel’s background originates at a state bioscience association, and he is familiar with the unique perspectives and interests of these communities.
“To accelerate innovation in the biopharmaceutical industry, it is critical to engage the entire community which includes industry, academia, federal stakeholders as well as local and state governments and organizations,” shares Kelvin H. Lee, Institute Director. “Alok will foster relationships within Delaware and other states within the region and support engagement with NIIMBL member state bio associations and other stakeholders that are aligned with our national vision,” adds Lee.
Patel brings over 15 years of experience in the life science industry, and his personal and professional connections to Delaware have provided numerous opportunities for companies and for the State to thrive in this industry. Previously, Patel was the Associate Director of External Relations for the Delaware Biotechnology Institute and prior to that role, he was the Director of Operations for the Delaware BioScience Association.
